Lower Fees Result in More Affordable Flights to Ecuador

According to the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, the government of Ecuador will reduce fees for international flights. This will lead to lower airfares into the country.

Niels Olsen, Minister of Tourism for Ecuador, said: “As from today we have removed unnecessary barriers to tourists coming and exploring Ecuador.”

The previous government created a lot of fees and taxes that made it expensive to fly.

Under our current government we have reduced the Eco Delta and Tourism Potential tax that was added to the flight ticket.

The Ministry of Tourism reported that “16 airlines connect Quito directly to 19 international destinations as well as nine destinations in Ecuador.”

American, Delta and LATAM offer direct flights to Ecuador’s main airports in Quito and Guayaquil.

In June, Avianca inaugurated New York-Quito flights.
