Amtrak Introduces BOGO Offer for Washington, DC Travel in Commemoration of Vietnam War Anniversary

    Amtrak announced a new “Buy One, Get One” sale on travel to Washington, D.C. in preparation for the upcoming Welcome Home! The events will honor Vietnam veterans and families.

    Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, ceremonies will be held on the National Mall from May 11-13. Active-duty U.S. Military personnel, dependents, and veterans are eligible to receive a 50 percent discount on fares for a companion when they purchase one adult ticket. This offer is valid through May 15, 2015.

    Travel dates between May 9 and May 15 are eligible for the Northeast Regional, Acela, and Vermonter from Washington, D.C., Boston/Springfield, Massachusetts, or cities in-between.

    Amtrak customers can take advantage of this sale by booking via the Amtrak App using promo code C429 for Coach or Acela Business Class travel.

    Amtrak’s President Roger Harris stated in a press release that the company is dedicated to honoring and supporting those who have served their country. We understand the importance of this tribute for Vietnam War veterans, and we are proud to provide this sale in order to make travel easier for those attending Washington, D.C., event.
